One of the interesting parts of genealogy is learning how to surmount various obstacles to research. This section describes some of the techniques I've used.

• An article that describes how to save manifest images from the Ellis Island Web site.
• A slightly odd article about what to bring along when you're going out into the field. I'm not sure what use it is to anyone but I had fun putting it together.
